Nutrition policy

All meals are provided daily, cooked fresh on the premises.  Sunny Kids Bega ensures a nutritious menu based around healthy eating guidelines.  Meals are eaten in a relaxed and social setting. Parents are encouraged to share their child’s favourite recipes. 

Grounds

Children play in beautifully designed grounds that include a mud pit, construction area, dinosaur table, sandpit and playground.  A yoga/relaxation space is available for quiet time and a place to think. Sunny Kids also has a garden for growing vegetables including carrots, spring onions, capsicum and lettuce, which the children contribute to. 

Communication

Online tools are used to keep an ongoing, real-time record of each child’s day and their learning journey.  This helps provide a link between parents and the centre and helps children in their daily transition. Parents can tune in to the daily workings at Sunny Kids with regular updates, tips and activities that are helpful to parents.

We keep in touch with parents regularly with updates, information, and observations about each child’s progress. We also invite families to contact us via our social media pages with questions, ideas, or to arrange an in-person meeting with their child’s educator.


BUB'S EARLY LEARNING CENTRE BEGA PTY LTD

In 2014 Bega Preschool was assessed by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Authority and received a result of “Exceeding” in the National Standards in Early Childhood Education.

Bega Preschool offers two classrooms with a maximum of 20 children enrolled in each class. The classes are taught by University Degree trained Early Childhood Teachers, all other educators hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education or Certificate 111 in Children’s Services. We believe in the importance of relationships, between children, educators, families and the wider community and that they are built on trust, mutual respect and understanding. 

We believe that feeling a sense of belonging is crucial for everyone and by forming strong bonds with children and families we create this sense of belonging. It is with this belief in mind that children are enrolled in a one, two or three day program with the same teacher and class on consecutive days. This enables relationships to develop and provides opportunities to support children to engage in meaningful learning relationships.

Eden Early Learning Centre offers both State-supported and Commonwealth-supported preschool programs to children aged 3-5 years under separate funding arrangements.

Commonwealth-supported preschool has no restrictions on how many days a child is enrolled per week, and when the child can get dropped off or picked up during the Centre’s operating hours.

Children enrolled in State-supported preschool must attend a two-day session. State-supported preschool operates between 8.00am and 3.30pm, and only during school terms. State-supported places will be strictly limited.

Both Commonwealth-supported preschool and State-supported preschool places at Eden Early Learning Centre deliver the same preschool educational program.

At Pambula Village Preschool, we are approved for 40 children. Allowing us to get to know each of our long daycare children better. Pambula Preschool is a community based two-unit preschool; licensed for 40 children.

We have been successfully operating locally for over 40 years. The Preschool’s running costs are funded by fees and recurrent funding from NSW Department of Education.

Our Management Committee comprises of parents and is responsible for the overall management of the Preschool. The Management Committee ensures the ongoing viability of the Preschool and works in collaboration with the Director and staff. Members are elected at the Annual General Meeting and subsequent meetings are held monthly. Fundraising events occur throughout the year. These events help raise funds for new equipment, upgrade of the playground, teaching resources and books, which all ultimately benefit the children. Working bees are also organised from time to time and we rely on parent help and resources to keep our Preschool well maintained.

Pambula Preschool has received an overall rating of  'Exceeding' under the National Quality Standards.  Preschool also rated 'Exceeding' in each of these quality areas.

Shorebreakers Kindergarten was established in 2002 as a purpose-built, long day care centre in Pambula, New South Wales. Our service has a long-standing history of providing high quality education and care to the local community of Pambula and surrounding towns of Merimbula, Tura Beach, Eden and beyond. Shorebreakers is open 52 weeks of the year, with opening hours from 7:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday, only closing for weekends and official public holidays in NSW. 
 
Shorebreakers Kindergarten consists of four main learning rooms:
Nursery, catering for children from six weeks to two years of age
Toddler Room, catering for children from two to three years of age
Transition Room, catering for children from three to four years of age
