Learning Cottage educators provides an outstanding learning environment for all children aged 0 – 6, operating Centre-Based care and Long Daycare. A reading nook is a favourite room for our children. Other rooms include a relaxation area, construction zone, space for musical instruments and body movement and a sensory play area where children can explore clay and playdough. We are proponents of the Munch and Move government initiative that endorses a balance of healthy diet, physical activity and limited screen time. We believe healthy habits start in childhood and we offer nutritious meals and snacks to promote energy and well being throughout the day. 

Communication 

The Learning Cottage encourages the sharing of culture, language and home experiences and operates on an affordable and accessible fee structure, to allow all families to contribute to the community. We also invite parents to come into the centre as volunteers, which allows the opportunity to see how your child spends their day, as well as accessing more hours of subsidised care. Children are welcome to spend a couple of days discovering Learning Cottage before enrolment, to allow us to get to know their interests and routines.

Founded in 1983, Evans Head-Woodburn Pre-School is a non-profit community owned pre-school. We are an inclusive service catering for all children and their families.
In Evans Head, we are currently licensed for 30 children, 5 days per week during school terms.

In 2010 we opened a centre at Woodburn. Our Woodburn centre is licensed for 25 children, 4 days per week during school terms.

In both our centres, our curriculum is play based and child focused. Our staff are trained and experienced. They provide learning experiences to foster individual strengths, needs and interests.

We work in partnership with families to create a caring and nurturing environment with open communication. Our strong relationship with local schools underpins our transition to school program.
