Gidgillys Early Education and Care Centre along with Jindabyne Preschool was established in 2006. Gidgillys is a privately owned licensed long day care centre and preschool offering high quality education and care services along with well balanced, nutritional meals.

Our qualified, loving and dedicated educators provide young children with opportunities to maximise their potential and develop a foundation for future success in learning. We provide educational programs for infants (0 - 2 years) in our Ladybugs classroom, toddlers (2 - 3 years) in our Gigglebugs classroom, pre-preschool (3 - 4 years) in our Starbugs classroom and the year before school (4 - 5 years) in our Jindabyne Preschool environment. Gidgillys also provides two outdoor play environments that play a large part in the children's education.

Our OSHC service (Out of School Hours Care) aims to provide a home-like atmosphere within a caring and stimulating environment with highly trained and experienced staff.

Our expansion into Out of School Hours Care and the partnership with Jindabyne Central School reflects our commitment to the community and we hope that this service benefits you and your children. We lease the primary school hall from the school on a daily basis and we have access to the room before and after school and during the school holidays.

About us

At Cooma School for Early Learning, we have been approved to place 81 children in our long daycare, vacation care, and after school hours care. We provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive centre. Every child is offered the same opportunities no matter what their gender, race, culture, religion, or socio-economic background. Our early learning centre is packed with resources designed to stimulate each child’s curiosity and natural need to learn and discover. There is a playground, mud kitchen, sandpit, and open spaces for our long daycare children to enjoy and explore.

Curriculum

Our long daycare program at Cooma School for Early Learning is based on the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Framework. These concepts focus on giving the children in our early learning centre the sense of Being, Becoming, Belonging. Our educators are continuously improving their teaching skills and we are always working on improving the service we offer. Parents and families are encouraged to provide feedback and we are happy to make a time for parents to come in and discuss any issues/worries in strict confidence.

Building Blocks is licensed by the Department of Education and cares for maximum of 32 children per day.

Bumblebee Forest Pty Ltd is the approved provider of Building Blocks. Heading up Bumblebee Forest Pty Ltd are Ivan and Kim. They work behind the scenes supporting and running the business, please stop and say hi if you see them around the centre.

Building Blocks is managed by Kim and our qualified local educators. Buildings Blocks’ educators are early childhood teachers, diploma qualified or trainees undergoing traineeships.
