The Yellow Cottage Scone Grammar School Preschool is located at 69 Liverpool Street in Scone, New South Wales. Our centre-based preschool facility provides outstanding early childhood education and care solutions, supporting children as they learn and grow.
 
Services

At our centre, we promote a play-based approach to early learning. We encourage children to engage in play with their peers and to explore new skills and challenges through a range of engaging experiences and activities. We work to support children’s interests and promote their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through the delivery of excellent educational programs. 

At the Yellow Cottage, we emphasise the importance of connection by building positive relationships with children, their families, and the community of which we are a part. We aim to provide children with a safe, nurturing learning environment. At our centre, children are encouraged to ask questions, discover the world around them, and contribute to their own learning journeys. 

Our centre is home to a team of skilled and passionate educators, who promote our values of connection, belonging, wellbeing, and learning. Our educators are guided by our Christian faith philosophy and our commitment to building a fantastic early learning community. 

Nutrition policy

At the Yellow Cottage, we know that good nutrition plays an important role in supporting healthy child development. We teach children about healthy habits through our learning programs, and we ask parents to provide children with meals and snacks that align with the requirements set by the Australian Dietary Guidelines. 

Grounds

Our centre offers a warm and inviting learning environment. Here, children are supported, encouraged, and included. We have great outdoor spaces, where children engage with activities and learn about sustainability and the environment. We also have excellent indoor learning spaces, which are equipped with educational tools and resources. 

Communication

Family involvement is an important part of early childhood education. At the Yellow Cottage, we maintain regular communication with children’s families, inviting parents to share children’s needs and interests with educators to guide the development of our curriculum programs. Children’s parents are able to communicate with us via phone or email, and parents are always welcome to speak with educators at drop-off and pick-up times.

Scone and District Pre School is a provider of preschool/kindergarten stand alone services for children aged from 3 years to 5 years. 

Services

At Scone and District Pre School, we provided education that is based around the needs of the children, providing opportunities for them to discover and learn through challenging and exciting activities. 

Our goal is to ensure your child is ready for mainstream school, and the future. We understand that children's learning is dynamic and all-encompassing, so we provide a full range of physical, mental, personal, cultural, artistic, cognitive, and linguistic learning activities.

We following the Early Years Learning Framework's values of Being, Belonging, and Being, and we want to create an atmosphere where children feel at ease and are encouraged to learn and appreciate their own and others' work.

Nutritional Policy

At Scone and District Pre School, children are required to bring their own food. We recommend they bring fruit or a suitable savoury snack for morning tea, and a balanced lunch in accordance with the diet policy of the school. For drinks, we ask children only bring water or plain milk – and water is available throughout the day.

We ask that you do not bring foods containing nuts because they can pose a danger to children with allergies and/or anaphylaxis to them. 

We request that you refrain from sending any lollies, sweet biscuits, commercial "health food" bars (such as rollups, fruit sticks, and so on), burgers, sausage rolls, chips or crisps, and so on. We can offer suggestions for morning teas and lunches, if you need assistance. We do allow celebratory cakes on special occasions like birthdays. 

Grounds

We believe learning in a quality physical environment is critical for your child’s development. As such, our rooms are set up to include a variety of activities, work areas, and interest centres that enable children to learn skills, strategies, and broaden their horizons. We also have a playground, garden, and open space for children to enjoy the great outdoors while learning.

Communication

We have an open communication policy and ask that parents come to us if they have any concerns or suggestions. Notices, posters and other information is always displayed in the foyer, and newsletters are sent home twice a term. We monitor the progress of your child through observation, discussion and documentation. You can view their portfolio at any time and it’s available to share with family and friends.

At Denman Children’s Centre we pride ourselves on our natural environment. We encourage healthy risk taking and connecting with the earth as children explore the sensation of real grass, sand and uneven surfaces.

We provide a nurturing environment where your child will feel safe, secure and supported. Activities are planned for based on the individual needs and interests of all children enrolled at the centre. With a shared outdoor learning space siblings are able to find comfort from each other throughout the day.

We offer a wide range of activities based upon the children’s interests. These play based experiences are aimed at developing the whole child in readiness for school. Through play the children are developing all the necessary skills required for formal learning.

The Denman Children’s Centre is licensed for 39 children per day from 6 weeks of age until school age.
