St Marys
This well established leafy suburb was named for the beautiful historic St Marys Magdalene Anglican Church which was completed in 1840. Around this time the Bennet coach and wagon works was a prime industry in the region, manufacturing horse drawn wagons to meet the bourgeoning transport demands in Sydney town.
St Marys is still a prime centre for industry with a major centre to the north contributing strongly to the local economy. A thriving child-care service is offered for working parents, whether working locally or commuting, with 13 centres to choose from in the immediate vicinity, including after school care.
Child-care centres in the town provide a nurturing home away from home for little ones. St Mary centres are well rated by parents and adhere to the Australian Early Years Framework. This ensures a continuous programme that allows children to develop at their own individual pace and are able to transition smoothly into primary school. There are a range of options for children from 6 weeks to 6 years, providing children from all types of families with confidence and a sense of belonging.
St Marys offers its residents plenty to do during their leisure time. The town boasts easy access to three golf courses with Dunheved Golf Course within its border and Colonial and The Kingsway right next door. Residents and visitors alike can enjoy attractions such as Skypeak Adventures which provides adrenaline pumping excitement, St Marys Indoor shooting centre and Inflatable world for party fun while sports clubs abound including the St Marys Rugby League club and St Marys Gun Club.
Nature lovers are well catered for with massive regional parks and reserves near-by and as part of the Greater Sydney region, St Mary has easy access to all the amenities of the city.
