Services

At our centre, we know how important quality early education is, so we work to deliver effective, engaging early learning programs that help to prepare children for school and success. We offer a safe, nurturing learning environment in which children are supported by educators to learn, grow, and achieve. 

Our programs are designed to promote children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. We deliver programs that are fun, engaging, and meaningful, using a combination of educator-led and child-initiated learning activities and experiences. We believe that children should play an active role in their own learning, so we provide children with opportunities to contribute their skills, interests, and ideas to our curriculum and conversations. 

At Alice Springs Child Care Centre, our educators are proud to support children as they explore their creativity, build relationships with peers, and discover the world around them. Our staff help children at our centre develop a lifelong love of learning. 

Nutrition policy

We provide children enrolled at our centre with breakfast, two afternoon snacks, and milk and water to drink. Parents are asked to provide children with packed snacks and lunches that align with the requirements set by the Australian Dietary Guidelines. Please note that we are a nut-free centre for allergy reasons. 

For infants and toddlers, parents must provide bottles, formula, and milk, along with nappies, pull-ups, and spare clothing. 

Grounds

Our early learning centre has a fantastic yard and playground, where children are able to play and explore. We also have great indoor learning spaces, which are equipped with a range of educational tools and resources.
  
Communication

At Alice Springs Child Care Centre, we know families are an important part of early childhood education, so we work to maintain regular communication with children’s parents and families. Our educators document children’s learning and share information with their families, and our centre invites parents to ask questions and start discussions with our educators at pick-up and drop-off times.

The Alice Springs Steiner School is a 10-minute drive from the small town of Alice Springs located in Central Australia. The extensive grounds are surrounded by bush as well as the beautiful and impressive views of the MacDonnell Ranges.

The school is founded on the educational philosophy of Rudolf Steiner and was established by a group of enthusiastic parents in 1996.

The Alice Springs Steiner School offers a high standard of kindergarten, primary and middle school education.  The school currently caters for children from playgroup to class 8 with designated areas for Pre-school Transition, Primary and Middle School students.

The Alice Springs Steiner School has an enthusiastic, active and highly involved parent and teacher group. A flourishing and dynamic Steiner inspired curriculum; a bountiful bio dynamic vegetable garden alongside a basketball court, soccer field, and playground.

Each class and classroom is unique, colorful and decorated with nature, the student’s works of art and craft. Class sizes are small and the children are cared for and nurtured for as individuals. Music rings throughout the school on a daily basis, and there is an atmosphere of happiness and creativity.

The philosophy at The Alice Springs Steiner School is to educate the whole person intellectually, artistically, socially and morally, so as to develop each student’s innate self-discipline and strength of body and will.

The school nurtures a rich and welcoming community life which includes the annual Autumn Fair, seasonal festivals, craft groups, specialist committees, playgroups, lectures, workshops and other activities suitable for all members of school families.

Services

At our centre, we support children to learn at their own pace, introducing them to skills that promote school readiness and academic development. We encourage children to participate in educator-led and play-based learning programs, discovering new concepts each day.  

At Central Australian Community Toy Library and 3-Year-Old Kindy, we help children learn to ask questions and practise problem-solving skills. We encourage children to learn alongside their peers and educators and to build important social, emotional, and academic skills. 

Our centre is staffed by a team of qualified early childhood educators, who are proud to be a part of supporting young learners. Our educators deliver engaging educational programs that help children learn to love learning. 

Nutrition policy

At Central Australian Community Toy Library and 3-Year-Old Kindy, we recognise the value of good health and nutrition. We include these concepts as part of our daily teaching programs. 

Children enrolled at our centre share morning tea and afternoon tea with their peers. Parents are asked to provide one or two pieces of fruit, vegetables, cheese, or biscuits. Children enrolled in our full-day programs also need individually packed lunches, which should align with the standards set by the Australian Dietary Guidelines. 

Grounds

Our centre is home to excellent learning environments. We have plenty of outdoor space, where children have access to playhouses and climbing equipment. Children are encouraged to discover nature and learn about sustainability concepts. 

We also have great indoor spaces, which are equipped with high-quality educational tools and resources. 

Communication

At Central Australian Community Toy Library and 3-Year-Old Kindy, we know that families play an important role in early childhood education. We maintain regular communication with children’s families, providing updates on centre programs and events. 

Our educators are always happy to answer questions about our teaching programs. Children’s parents are welcome to speak with our educators at centre drop-off and pick-up times.
