Historical Ascot is an attractive suburb of Brisbane known for its traditional Queenslander homes. The area was occupied by the Aboriginal Turrbal clan until the 1830’s.
Locals and visitors alike shop, eat and enjoy beverages along the tree lined Racecourse Road and take a flutter at the Eagle Farm and Doomben racecourse, famous for their carnivals. The two racecourses are a dominant part of the suburb. Great views of the river and city can be had from Bartley’s Hill lookout in the south of Ascot. The suburb is also home to the DFO outlet store hub, where people flock for fashion bargains, as well as the Queensland Telecommunications Museum.
Working Ascot parents are spoilt for choice with a range of child-care centres to suit their particular family situation including out of school hours care, long daycare, early learning centres, occasional care and family daycare. Conveniently located in most areas of the suburb, Ascot child-care is available for all family circumstances. Centres include C&K Ascot Community Kindergarten, and St Margaret’s Advent Centre catering for St Margaret’s Anglican Girls School families. Other options include Ascot Childcare and Kindy. All centres offer play-based learning following Early Years Guidelines and a caring community for your child.
