Gympie 4570 is a town in the Wide Bay – Burnett region of Queensland. It’s around 160 kilometres north of Brisbane and lies on the Mary River. The city is famous for its gold field, with gold first found here in 1867, leading to a gold rush. The population currently stands at just over 21,500.
Stepping out in Gympie is like stepping back in time. It’s filled with heritage listed sights, dating back to the gold rush era. Take a walk through the town and you can explore museums and art galleries, local markets, along with a range of historic buildings, including the Town Hall that was built in 1890, built on the site of the original gold strike. You can even go fossicking for gold yourself!
When it comes to education, in Gympie you’ll find range of options for children of all ages, including a number of public and private schools, as well as the Wide Bay Institute of TAFE campus. Young care includes out of school hours care and long daycare, as well as early learning centre, occasional care and family daycare.
Food and activities
Early learning centres in Gympie focus on making education enjoyable. You’ll find the educators are highly experienced and are trained to utilise their skills to provide the highest quality education for young children. For meals, children are encouraged to eat a balanced diet that is both nutritious and healthy. Some centres provide these meals while others recommend bringing your own food. Each centre is different, so be sure to ask before your child begins care.
The centres in Gympie are very outdoor-play based, particularly prevalent given the rural community feel. Centres provide an abundance of outdoor space, including playgrounds and jungle gyms, along with gardening opportunities and environmental education. Activities are designed to help children achieve the very best when it comes to gross motor skills and learning.
Children are also provided abundant opportunities to paint, read, create craft masterpieces, and even cook and prepare their own snacks, on occasion.
Many Gympie childcare centres provide a Queensland Government Kindergarten Approved Program, delivered by a qualified Kindergarten teacher. This program is centred on play-based learning and is designed to ensure children are prepared when they attend school.
Parents are kept up to date with regular emails, social media posts, apps, and so on – depending on the daycare they are attending. Each centre has different forms of communication, and all welcome feedback.
In general, Gympie childcare is abundant with opportunities for learning, while at the same time, ensuring children have fun.
Philosophy Statement Kids Bizz Child Care Centre is a unique community bringing together children, parents, extended families and trained carers, all working together to develop the unique potential of each individual child. At Kids Bizz Child Care Centre, we believe that children are capable and involved learners, naturally curious about the world around them. We believe that children learn most effectively when allowed to explore concepts and experiences that are current in their lives. The amalgamation of child-led experiences and specific intentional teaching, form a conscious and deliberate plan that allows each child to experience the outcomes of The Early Years Learning Framework in a meaningful way. Kids Bizz Childcare Centre offers a play-based program as a basis for children to explore and make meaning of the world, and their place in it. Staff are recognised as facilitators to the learning process, encouraging higher order thinking through modelling strategies, providing resources and facilitating reflection with the children. Parent, family and community input are a valued inclusion into our programs and are necessary for children to form necessary links for learning. At Kids Bizz Child Care Centre, we aim to optimize the children's experience through effective use of our physical environment. When considering the physical setup of our rooms and learning areas we are true to the philosophy of Reggio Emilia - the physical environment is the third teacher. When considering our learning environment, we are aware of making the environment an extension of our program. We aim to encourage participation within the environment by making the physical space aesthetically pleasing and providing 'communication friendly spaces'. At Kids Bizz Child Care Centre, we believe in continuous improvement and working in the best interest of the child, as the underpinning value of our philosophy. Management and staff are dedicated to making continual improvements to make sure that we are providing care based upon best practice. Staff are continually reflecting on and managing the day to day learning environment in accordance with their own professionally developed observations and programs through the guidance of the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Framework ' Quality Improvement Accreditation System. The staff of Kids Bizz are continually engaging in professional development, and sharing and collaborating through professional conversations to ensure that we are continually improving our practice in providing the children in our care the best possible opportunities to support all areas of development within the individual child. Kids Bizz staff are guided by the 'Staying Healthy Preventing infectious diseases in early childhood education and care services' to ensure standards relating to hygiene and infection control are maintained in accordance with best practice. We believe that the management and placement of staff contribute to the belonging, being and becoming of each child through consistency of care and taking advantage of the personal strengths, professional experiences and individual diversity each staff member brings. We use a range of staff communication strategies to ensure each child has been supported throughout the day and that a true picture of the child's day can be given to the parent when they are picked up. At Kids Bizz Child Care Centre we encourage and enjoy positive relationships with our children, families and the community. We participate in community events and provide events within the centre to encourage our families to participate in the children's programs. Our parent surveys, as well as incidental feedback drives improvement in our centre to better meet the needs of our community.
