Joan and Kerry Mahony also own Brooklyn Park Private Kindergarten, and have over 20 years experience managing Education Care Centres. They promote a happy, friendly, family atmosphere at their centres.

Their mission is to ensure children develop to their maximum potential. They aim to have a positive impact on everyone they work with, and continuously improve the centres’ facilities, policies and educational programs.

Joan and Kerry work with their Directors and Educators to implement innovative learning experiences for children, parents and staff. They are proud of their wonderful staff who promote the Centres’ reputations for excellence in all areas of the National Quality Standards.

Located in South Australia, Goodwood Community Child Care Centre offers long daycare services to children aged from six months old, to school age.

Services

The carers and teachers at Goodwood Community Child Care Centre have a reputation for being very warm, and helpful with the children. It is well structured and as a smaller centre, children receive plenty of attention from their educators. Parents are encouraged to join in activities throughout the year, and 

The centre focuses on the Early Years Learning Framework, which includes five main principals. These include:

•	Children need to have a strong sense of identity, learning about themselves and growing the confidence they need to explore and learn.
•	Children should be connected to their world, develop a sense of belonging and understanding of their rights and responsibilities in the world, as well as learning about community values and traditions.
•	Children need a strong sense of wellbeing, both physically and psychologically. This helps to give them resilience and the ability to cope with day-to-day stress.
•	Children should develop as confident and involved learners, becoming active and involved participants in learning activities and developing a sense of security.
•	Children are effective communicators and from birth, they use gestures, sounds and other communications. This evolves into language, literacy and numeracy. We provide a range of tools to help children connect with others and express themselves.

Nutrition Policy

Meals and snacks are provided at Goodwood Community Child Care Centre and include a healthy array of fresh foods. We change our menu regularly, offering children a broad range of flavours. We can also cater to allergies and special dietary requirements.

Grounds

Each age group has their own room, with babies having an undercover play area that includes a sandpit and grassed play space. Toddlers are provided with an abundance of toys for play-based learning, and pretend-play, as well as structured arts and crafts. The outdoor play area for older children includes swings, sandpit, fort and slide, as well as a vegetable patch and worm farm to help teach children about sustainability and growth.

At Goodwood Community Child Care Centre, we believe in keeping our communication lines open between parents and guardians and the centre. We welcome feedback and we ask that parents please address any concerns or questions they may have with us via email or phone, or in person.

Treetops Early Learning Centre, Marleston offers centre-based care and long day care. The centre has a strong focus on the social and psychological development of each child. Staff also put an emphasis on early education, encouraging each child to appreciate their own talents and skills. 

Services

The curriculum is based on the National Early Years Framework with a focus on learning through play with the recognition that play is the most effective learning platform. The NEYF curriculum provides young children with a variety of learning opportunities that are designed to maximise their potential and develop a strong foundation for future learning and success. 

Nutrition policy

Treetops Marleston provides all food and meals for each age group with drinks (water and/or milk) supplied for older children. Bottles and formula or cow’s milk for infants are supplied by parents, which staff will prepare following the manufacturer’s instructions. 

Children enjoy relaxed mealtimes with staff supervising and joining in with conversation. All children are encouraged to be independent with their food choices. If children have special dietary needs, though these are taken into account for most meals, parents of these children will be requested to supply food/drink for particular days.

The centre does not offer any nut based products and under the “Food Safety Program” will not share food that is supplied by parents. 

Grounds

Purpose built Treetops Marleston incorporates child centred spacious rooms and outdoor spaces for children to explore and enjoy. A large, covered play area with wheeled toys and obstacle courses connects the rooms, along with a sandpit and garden, which are designed to fire children’s imaginations and encourage learning through play. Quiet spaces are also encouraged with large comfortable furniture provided. 

Communication

All staff are available to talk to parents during drop off and collection times, with appointments available for more in-depth discussions. Parents and guardians can join in sessions whenever they wish, under an ‘open-door policy’ which allows the child a more seamless transition from home to centre. All feedback and comments from parents are appreciated. Parents are also welcomed to contact the manager to express concerns.

Young children have a special ability to learn in a variety of ways and to create a unique understanding of their world.

At Annesley’s Early Learning Centre, all students participate in Units Of Inquiry from the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Program (PYP). Students have many opportunities to engage in hands-on projects that they initiate and lead with support from teachers and co-educators.

Each of Annesley’s four ELC rooms are led by a qualified Early Childhood Teacher with support from a dedicated team of Co-educators.

The learning program in Annesley’s Early Learning Centre (ELC) is influenced by Reggio Emilia’s international best practice philosophy and also guided by both the IB PYP and the National Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). These frameworks help to ensure children participate in a play-based learning program with emphasis on communication and language, including early literacy and numeracy. The learning program also forms excellent foundations for essential social and emotional development. Along with strong relationships between staff and students, the stimulating play environment encourages children to explore, question, collaborate and reflect.

Annesley College

Annesley Junior School provides Before School Care, After School Care and Vacation Care (OSHC) for students in Reception to Year 7 in a safe and secure environment. In OSHC students play and enjoy leisure opportunities to support their wellbeing, learning and development. OSHC staff work in collaboration with students to present a program that is relevant, consisting of both structured and unstructured time. Students are encouraged and supported to try new experiences, engage with their peers socially and pursue their interests to develop and strengthen their understanding of the world.  

Community Kids Ashford Early Education Centre provides quality long day care and education for children aged six weeks to six years in a calm homelike environment.

The centre is open from 6:30am to 6:30pm and provides nappies and nutritious meals for breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and a late snack.

Our experienced and qualified educators teach specialised programs based on the Early Years Learning Framework including; a School Readiness program taught by a bachelor qualified teacher aimed at preparing the children school and beyond.
