Truganina, Victoria
Truganina is a low-density suburb to the west of the Melbourne CBD, named for the last full blooded Aboriginal Tasmanian women, Truganina, who had lived in the area. The Skeleton-Waterholes Creek runs along the boundary. Locals enjoy off-road cycling and hiking along the Federation Trail at the southern border of the suburb.
The area is growing rapidly, due to its affordable housing and proximity to a manufacturing hub in nearby Laverton and a business park emerging in the RAAF Williams Base. There are also many distribution centres in the locality including for Woolworths, Kmart and Coles.
As a largely commuter suburb, there are many child-care options available, offering the full range of child-care services including nursery, early learning, kindergarten and after school or before school care.
Future Kids Kindergarten and Child Care, Little Learners Day Care Centre and Truganina Early Learning Centre are just some of the child-care centres that offer a wide range of services for Truganina families. There are also several family day care operations.
Truganina child-care centres employ highly qualified and experienced staff who encourage each child to reach their individual potential. Programmes are designed to provide children with a fun and educational environment providing plenty of opportunities to learn and grow.
