Kuaotunu Kindergarten is a Charitable Trust governed by our hard working trustees. We are also affiliated to the National Federation of Rudolf Steiner Schools.

We are chartered, licensed, early childhood centres, answerable to the Ministry of Education and the Education Review Office. The National Early Childhood Curriculum Te Whariki and the education philosophies of Rudolf Steiner are intertwined throughout all of our practices.

Our kindergarten offers small group sizes, a calm and homelike environment, a commitment to developing positive relationships with both children and their families, and a strong sense of community.

Parents are part of the management and play a vital role in the running of the Kindergarten. The processes and policies of the Kindergarten are decided by a management committee made up of parents, staff and Kindergarten Trust members.

Teachers at our Kindergarten strive to establish reciprocal and supportive relationships with the families who come to our Kindergarten.

We strongly believe that a strong partnership between home and the Kindergarten establishes a solid foundation for children’s learning and provides the best outcome for children and their families.

Teachers are always available to talk with parents about their child before or after the session. Formal meetings throughout the year include home visits, parent teacher interviews, parent evenings and management meetings. We also write a regular Kindergarten newsletter twice per term.
