Our Philosophy
Tarragindi Child Care and Development provides a quality child care service for the benefit of the children who attend and their families and as a dedicated facility to the community.
We believe that to enhance each child's individual learning and development, children need to be acknowledged as unique individuals, who deserve trust, respect, security, love, attention and care.
We aim to provide quality care and education that meets the needs and expectations of parents and children in Australia's society.
We will strive to promote the physical, social, emotional, intellectual and creative skills of each child through a holistic, play based program rich in positive interactions between adults and children alike.
It is also our belief that children require opportunities for free play, structured play and incidental learning.
Positive learning opportunities must also acknowledge those children with additional needs and varying cultural values and where appropriate resource workers will be utilised.
By nurturing children in accordance to their individual needs, staff are able to foster positive self-esteem within each child, allowing competencies such as independence and problem solving to evolve naturally.
Positive encouragement and reinforcement are used as tools to direct and promote behaviours. Through positive encouragement and experiences, we aim to build high self esteem and self worth.
As educators, we must always take an open-minded approach to our teaching methods and always be willing to review our 'philosophical approaches'.
We aim to establish close liaison with parents, families, and the community for the benefit of the children. Families and the wider community are encouraged to share their culture, language and home experiences with the Centre.
The Centre regularly observes, documents and evaluates all practices, to continue to update and improve the quality of service and standard of care we provide. Management and staff are committed to ongoing training and learning in the child care field.
The staff members aim to work together as a team to promote a professional environment, respectful of each other's views.
