Indooroopilly Montessori Children’s House is a Montessori early learning centre based in Indooroopilly, Brisbane. We cater for children aged 6 weeks to school entry age. Our centre provides a natural sustainable environment for children to develop a love for learning, promoting values of compassion, well-being, and respect.
Services
We implement the Montessori Philosophy into our centre-based, long daycare. Children are welcome to attend for a full day of education and fun, but we encourage all children to attend from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM to fully experience our program.
Kindergarten children must attend for a minimum of three days, while all other children must attend for a minimum of two. The Montessori Philosophy ties together learning, life, and children’s natural curiosity. It is a flexible approach to learning that allows each individual to guide their own development. Our education program is divided into 0-3 and 3-5-year-old groups. Our integrated Foundation Learning Areas provide dedicated spaces for children to develop their emotional, spiritual, physical, social and academic needs.
Nutrition policy
We encourage parents and caregivers to pack healthy, wholesome meals for their children. We do not supply meals at our centre.
Grounds
Our centre features indoor and outdoor play spaces, purposefully prepared to cultivate children’s natural interests and desire to learn. Our extensive architecturally-designed wilderness playground features opportunities for ‘risky’ play, fostering independence and self-initiated learning.
This includes:
- Natural climbing areas
- Uneven surfaces
- Trails
- Native gardens
- Small scaled spaces, slopes, and steps
Our organic spaces allow children to develop their connection with nature and foster a deep respect for their environment.
Communication
Our centre uses Storypark, an e-Portfolio app accessible via phones, computers, and other devices. Upon enrolment, each family will receive login details to access this app, where they can see photos, stories, observations, and learning outcomes for their child or children. Many of our policies are also available for families to access through this
portal.
