Morisset Children’s Centre is a Community Preschool and Early Education Centre for children 2-5 years. The centre is located right in town across for Morisset High School. The centre currently provides Early Education and a Preschool program for a maximum of 28 children per day across two class rooms led by highly skilled and experienced Teachers. As of March 2019, our centre meets all quality standards expected by the Australian Government’s National Quality Standards. This rating means we provide high standards of care and education for each child. Services Our successful play-based framework is tailored to every child’s developmental needs, strengths and interests. At Morisset Children’s Centre we follow the National Early Years Learning Framework to ensure every child enjoys the highest standards of early education. We believe in a holistic approach to children’s growth and development by employing an Occupational Therapist and a Speech Therapist on a fortnightly basis. The three core values of Being, Belonging, and Becoming underpin every aspect of our curriculum. ‘Being’ ensures every child feels safe, recognised, and present in their own world. By learning this vital quality, children will feel confident in themselves and form positive relationships with educators and peers. ‘Belonging’ acknowledges the importance of community. At Morisset Children’s Centre, we create a fun-filled, collaborative atmosphere where children play, learn, and grow together. We encourage children to become active members of their local community while respecting their personal boundaries. ‘Becoming’ recognises each child’s potential. We realise how quickly children’s perspectives, interests, knowledge, and understanding can change during these vital early years, and we stay with them every step of the way. Grounds We are a sustainable community centre, encouraging each child to love and respect the world around them. By learning about waste, compost, and gardening, children will become active participants in the outdoor environment. Where possible, we use recycled materials in our weekly programs and attend a number of excursions into our local community. Our outdoor playscapes feature a sandpit, a large playground, mud kitchen and several open spaces for children to explore and enjoy. We implement our indoor and outdoor program all year round whatever the weather. Communication We believe in creating healthy, long-lasting relationships with families and the broader community. In line with the Early Years Learning Framework, these strong bonds are conducive to better education and offer positive, holistic learning opportunities. Parents and caregivers can remain up-to-date with [M8] their child’s daily tasks through our online app. This app provides regular updates, photos, progress notes, and important information about our procedures and programs.
