Giraffe Childcare Docklands is a centre-based early learning centre located in
Docklands, Victoria. The facility provides long daycare for a maximum of 150 children
aged from six weeks to five years.
Giraffe Childcare Docklands is conveniently located within Dockland’s Harbour Town,
with easy CityLink access and affordable parking nearby. We offer a warm, welcoming
atmosphere and personalised education for every child.
Services
We present a range of exciting curricula at our centre, including a School Readiness
program to help three to five-year-olds prepare for the challenges of ‘Big School’. By
building skills in independence, self-confidence, social awareness, and communication,
we aim to give children the best possible head-start in their lifelong learning journey.
Each of our programs centres around the Australian government’s Early Years Learning Framework, where children will develop five essential skills:
- A strong sense of identity
- A deep connection with the outside world
- Positive wellbeing
- Confidence and involvement in learning
- Communication
We build these skills by connecting with children directly and allowing them to make
choices about their learning.
Nutrition
Our in-house cook has trained overseas and locally, developing an inspired range of food
preparation skills. Each day, our cook prepares fresh meals based on a varied, seasonal
menu, crafted to suit the nutritional, cultural, and allergy-based needs of every child.
For the early risers, we serve breakfast each day, along with morning tea, lunch, and
afternoon tea. We also offer fresh fruit throughout the day and encourage each child to
explore new flavours.
Grounds
Our grounds feature plenty of wide-open space, a large playground, and natural
gardens. Through exciting outdoor play equipment, we aim to encourage children to
keep active and challenge themselves.
In our pre-school program, children are free to choose whether they would prefer to play indoors or outdoors.
Communication
At Giraffe Childcare Docklands, we have an open-door policy—meaning families are welcome to visit our centre at any time. We appreciate feedback from parents and caregivers and will incorporate suggestions into our teaching strategies wherever
possible.
We encourage families to meet with our educators at regular intervals to discuss their
child’s likes and dislikes, unique interests, and individual needs.
