Sunkids Children's Centre – Boondall East is a long day care provider that offers places for children from six weeks of age, through to Kindergarten.
Services
In our fully serviced, modern learning rooms we provide a range of education choices to suit children of all ages in our care. Children are made to feel safe and secure, and are provided with a variety of activities every day to help them learn.
We encourage play-based learning, and our curriculum is shaped by authentic experiences and scenarios that enable ‘teachable moments'. It reacts to the children's current needs by using previous knowledge and what they already know, rather than pre-set programs.
We want children to have ownership over their learning, and we encourage them to be confident and enthusiastic learners who are proud of themselves at the end of the day.
Our staff are educated and experienced and are dedicated to helping your child be the best they can be. They have a “Virtue-approach”, which is centred around having a positive attitude towards character development. Educators also use the principle of “Multiple Intelligences” to find different teaching methods to better serve their each child.
Nutritional Policy
At Sunkids Children's Centre – Boondall East, we believe it’s essential that children eat healthy and nutritious meals throughout the day. Our on-site chef prepares morning and afternoon tea as well as a light breakfast and an evening snack. We don’t hurry mealtimes and children are encouraged to serve themselves and others, engage with one another, and enjoy beautiful food and conversation. We have a variety of food choices appropriate for each age group, including pureed fruits and rice puddings for babies.
Grounds
Sunkids Children's Centre – Boondall East includes two large, shaded outdoor play areas. These come complete with sandpits, bike tracks, rock riverbed and water pump, as well as a raised performance deck and interactive garden beds.
Communication
We believe that close relationships with parents and carers is essential – understanding that parents are the foundation of a child’s education. We provide an online tool where parents can keep track of their child’s activities and learning, and this is available to access at any time. We also welcome any feedback and suggestions at any time.
