About us

Our unique, multipurpose centre at Willy Wagtail’s Garden Childcare Centre gives our educators the flexibility to employ a wide variety of activities for our long daycare children. We offer places for 28 children aged 2-5 years. As a Sun Smart centre, we give all our long daycare children a free hat upon enrolment. The natural world is an important factor of our large playground. Native plants and trees create natural shade for sun protection throughout the day. Our long daycare children can explore our vegetable garden, be creative in our sandpit, and discover the diverse range of outdoor equipment we have at Willy Wagtail’s Garden Childcare Centre. The safe, happy, and educating environment we offer allows the children to grow and develop to their full potential.

Curriculum

The programs at Willy Wagtail’s Garden Childcare Centre are based on the Early Years Learning Framework and incorporate the Socio- Cultural Theory. We have a blend of planned experiences and unstructured play-based learning. Our School Readiness Program is for the children who will move onto ‘Big School’ the following year. It is designed to get these long daycare children prepared and confident for their move into their educational future. Our large assortment of resources supports each child’s interests and educational requirements.

Communication

Keeping up-to-date on your child’s daily progress and activities has never been easier. The communication app we use is accessible via your mobile phone. Our educators are able to upload their observations quickly and easily, and without the wasting of unlimited reams of paper. In this way our app supports the Willy Wagtail’s Garden Childcare Centre sustainability and environmental care aims.
