When you are working school holidays can be an issue. Here, we will look at how Kariong Neighbourhood Centre out of school hours care and vacation care has the solution.

About us

At Kariong Neighbourhood Centre out of school hours care and vacation care, we provide a safe and friendly atmosphere for 75 school age children. There is a playground and open spaces. Your fees include breakfast and fruit for snacks. Make sure you pack sufficient nutritious foods for the busy vacation care days. We are an allergy aware service. Water is available to top-up drink bottles, but if your child does not bring their own bottle their will be a $5 surcharge added each day your child uses one from the Kariong Neighbourhood Centre. At least one of the out of school hours care and vacation care supervisors in each session has qualifications in:

•	Apply First Aid
•	Child Protection
•	Asthma and Anaphylaxis certificate, and
•	CPR

You can contact us through our website and your Hubworks account will allow you to access BookME to reserve places. If you are eligible, you can claim our fees through the Child Care Subsidy (CCS) rebate.

Activities

Vacation care days are full of fun and enjoyment at Kariong Neighbourhood Centre. We offer activities like:

•	Dress up days
•	Scavenger hunts
•	Australian Reptile Park
•	Party games
•	Cinema, and 9D
•	Talent shows
•	Cooking
•	Art and crafts
•	Slime, finger toys, and more

Alternative activities are available for children who don’t wish to participate in an event.

Clothing

We follow the Cancer Council’s Sun Safe OOSH policy at Kariong Neighbourhood Centre. This requires each of our out of school hours care and vacation care children to wear sun safe clothing:

•	Hat – broad rimmed, bucket style, or legionnaire
•	Clothes that cover the shoulders, jacket (when appropriate)
•	Enclosed shoes, and
•	Water bottle

Children who do not bring appropriate clothing will be loaned some and a $3 fee will be added per item.

There is no need to stress about your school aged child when they have out of school hours care or vacation care with the team at Kariong Neighbourhood Centre.

Jacqui is a dedicated and professional Educator who holds a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood). Jacqui Has worked in many settings from Family Day Care to Long Day Care, to Out of School Hours Care. Jacqui worked at Wee Waa Public School as ttion he Transition to School Coordinator and Toomelah Public School as School Learning Support Coordinator. 
Jacqui has 2 young children of her own aged 9 years and 5 years.
