The Green Elephant Early Learning Centre Waterloo is a centre-based early learning facility located in Waterloo, New South Wales. The centre offers a range of services for local families, including long daycare, out of school hours care, and vacation care.
We currently cater for 60 children at one time, aged from infancy to school age. As of June 2017, The Green Elephant holds an overall National Quality Standards rating of ‘Exceeding NQS’ along with an ‘Exceeding NQS’ rating in all seven quality areas. This rating implies our centre is one of Australia’s best, providing care and education well above the expected Aussie standard.
We are a family-owned and operated service with a modern, innovative approach to early education.
Across our thoughtfully prepared and expertly designed classrooms, children will play, learn, and build positive relationships with their educators and peers.
We guide ourselves through the concept of ‘family’. By working in collaboration with families and children, we offer a committed, nurturing, and child-focused environment with strong community ties.
Our philosophy emphasises play-based learning in an exciting, ever-changing, and stimulating environment. Children at The Green Elephant are continually exposed to new environments, experiences, textures, and tastes, expanding their view of the world around them and inspiring curiosity and confidence.
We divide our curriculum into eight essential categories, represented by different ‘elephants’:
-Creative Elephant (arts and creative expression)
-Groovy Elephant (music and movement)
-Healthy Elephant (nutritional education)
-Safe Elephant (safety and life skills)
-Fit Elephant (physical activity)
-Tongue-Tied Elephant (foreign language)
-Explorer Elephant (confidence and community)
-Big School Elephant (school readiness)
We believe instilling healthy eating habits at a young age is vital for a child’s future development. Our qualified nutritionist and on-site chefs work together to prepare healthy, balanced, and delicious meals each day. We cater to all food intolerances and allergies as well as dietary preferences.
Our outdoor playscapes feature lush greenery, a vibrant garden, a modern sandpit, and an expansive adventure retreat. In each of these environments, children will develop their gross and fine motor skills, build relationships with their peers, and challenge their bodies.
We aim to create respectful, long-lasting partnerships with families. Parents and caregivers are welcome to contact us through our website at any time.
