Services
At Footscray Early Learning centre, we believe in the potential of all children to be who they want to be. We engage children’s natural desires to learn and grow through structured and unstructured play. We support and encourage children to develop at their own pace and explore their unique interests.
We structure our curriculum around the Early Years Learning Framework, which emphasises ‘Belonging, Being & Becoming’. Based on this framework, we support children in developing:
- A keen sense of identity
- A deep connection with the outside world
- Positive wellbeing
- Confidence and involvement in learning
- Effective communication and social skills
We achieve these standards by modelling positive behaviour and creating a warm, judgment-free learning environment.
Nutrition
Our in-house kitchen prepares nutritionally balanced and healthy meals for children each day, including freshly baked goods. Our kitchen is registered with the Maribyrnong council as an approved facility.
We offer:
- A 4-week rotating menu
- Locally sourced fresh fruit and produce
- A menu supported by Nutrition Australia
- Fresh fruit bowls in each room
- Reduced white carbohydrates and sugar
- A progressive approach to mealtime
- Freely available water
We cater to the cultural, individual, and dietary needs of each child in our meal planning.
Grounds
At Footscray Early Learning Centre, outdoor exploration is a vital part of our philosophy. We encourage children to get outdoors and become familiar with their natural environment. Our grounds feature a colourful playground, open spaces, and an entertaining sandpit area.
Communication
We believe clear communication with families is vital to a child’s growth. We encourage parents and caregivers to get in touch via email, mobile phone, and text messages to ask questions and provide feedback throughout the day.
